True Cost of a Loan: Based on a study conducted by the Financial Health Network (FHN), commissioned by Oportun. Results are applicable to nonprime consumers, including those with little or no credit history, where the total savings number equals the difference between the average cost of alternative installment and payday lending products that customers e amount through Oportun, multiplied by the number of customers served in the period. This amount is calculated based on the total figure from the prior study, with information on first-time personal loan borrowers through Q3 2021, added to the results using the new nationwide study with new and returning personal loan borrowers starting Q4 2021.
